The parliamentary leader of Livre criticized the executive for including “individual measures” of the opposition in the government program approved this Wednesday without dialogue with these parties, and accused him of reneging on some election promises.
“This inclusion of individual measures from the election programs of other parties seems interesting to us, but this was done without dialogue with the parties. We now know that when the government program was presented, we do not even know which Livre measures actually figured in it. government program because there was no such dialogue,” criticized Isabel Mendez Lopez, speaking to reporters in parliament.
The Livre leader stressed that “dialogue is carried out through dialogue, and not simply by including the measures of other parties in the government program.”
In the first analysis of the 185-page document presented today to the Assembly of the Republic by the leader of the minority PSD/SDS led by Social Democrat Luis Montenegro, Livre notes that it is the program of a “right-wing government that is completely legitimate”, but further confirms that the party “will loyal and energetic opposition.”
“We hope that the inclusion of some measures from the Livre program will be less bad,” he said.
Isabel Méndez López also accused the government of reneging on some electoral promises made during the legislative campaign, citing the example that in the electoral program of the Democratic Alliance (PSD, CDS-PP and PPM coalition) the cuts to the IRS were “detailed, planned , with reporting, but now the Government program has a set of intentions, there is no schedule and reporting.”

Isabel Méndez López insisted that Livre is open to dialogue with the government on issues such as the creation of a national compensation circle, preventing corruption or “greater involvement of citizens in important decision-making processes.”
“The government in this situation will have to dialogue, and if the government does not dialogue, if it tries to avoid parliamentary control, Livret will look for other forces to bring to the Assembly of the Republic a discussion of the decrees of the law that the government produces and with which we do not feel comfortable or that our rights are being compromised,” he said.
