The Prosecutor’s Office (MP) has charged 21 people accused of criminal association and drug trafficking for the sale of cocaine, heroin and MDMA in the Barcelos region, the Office of the Prosecutor General of the Porto region announced on Thursday.
The note published on the prosecutor’s office website adds that one of the defendants was also charged with possession of a prohibited weapon.
The deputy believed that the accused organized among themselves the sale of cocaine, marijuana and MDMA in the Barcelos area of Braga district.
Human trafficking will occur between the end of 2022 and October 18, 2023.
According to the deputy, the leadership of the group was entrusted to one of the accused and his partner, with the assistance of her brother and mother.
“The other defendants recruited clients and acted as intermediaries in the leadership of the group with individuals who sold products directly to consumers, and they constituted another group of defendants,” the prosecutor’s brief also states.
