The celebrations in Fernão Ferro, Seixal municipality, were marked by violence and a car accident, which fortunately did not have more serious consequences.
The violent incident occurred at 1am on Sunday, when two men became involved in clashes and attacks. GNR soldiers on the scene were forced to intervene, but ended up being targeted by one of the attackers. He attempted to attack the guards, was taken into custody at the post, and later released with a summons to appear in court.
A few minutes earlier, on Rua da Igreja, just a few meters from the party, two cars (one of which failed to observe a stop sign) had collided at an intersection, leaving four people injured. One of the victims was in serious condition and had to be taken to Santa Maria Hospital. The other three, including a child, were being cared for at Garcia de Orta.
