Singer Ana Faria, known for creating the groups Queijinhos Frescos and Onda Choc, died this Saturday at the age of 74.
Ana Faria has participated in several music programs on Portuguese television, including “Zip Zip”.from RTP in 1969, where he sang “Canção de Embalar” by José Afonso and “Avé Maria do Povo”, popularized by Simone de Oliveira.
Together with her husband Jeduino Gomez, who was in charge of production, they created the groups Queijinhos Frescos, Jovens Cantores de Lisboa, and then Onda Choc, with over a million records sold, and Popeline.
In a post on Facebook, accompanied by a photo of Ana Faria’s 1986 album Pedaço de Céu, Heduino Gomes writes: “Ana Faria, New Lisbon, October 18, 1949 – Lisbon, August 17, 2024.”
Also on Facebook, music researcher and radio host João Carlos Calixto remembers the singer as the creator of projects that are “very important for educating the taste of so many children.”
One of the projects that the radio host talked about is the project “Brincando aos Clássicos”, which, along with “Os Queijinhos Frescos”, has become very popular among young people.
Later, Ana Faria dedicated herself painting and portraits, which he focused on before music. He also published several children’s books.
