One person died after being caught by a train this Friday morning in Rio Tinto, Gondomar.
The alarm was raised at 11:27 am on Rua Quinta das Freiras. Areosa-Rio Tinto firefighters and the ambulance and medical resuscitation (VMER) team from INEM were called. The victim has now been declared dead.
PSP Rio Tinto agents arrived at the scene to investigate the railway collision, as well as representatives from Infrastructure Portugal.
According to the KP source, due to the accident, train traffic was interrupted from 11:27 to 12:31.
At 12:53, rail traffic on this section of the Minho Line was completely restored.
