The National Emergency Management and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC) will have about 300 staff to assist pilgrims heading to the Fatima shrine in an operation that will take place from Sunday to Monday.
ANEPC said in a statement that “Operation Fatima 2024” will last for two days, starting Sunday, during which it will “ensure the provision of relief and assistance to thousands of pilgrims traveling to the Fatima shrine for religious ceremonies.”
The operation, carried out by the Subregional Command for Emergency Management and Civil Protection of Medio-Tejo, “aims to increase the power and response speed of the devices that implement the Integrated Defense and Relief Operations System and the Integrated Emergency Medical Care System, as well as such, ensuring effective and ongoing institutional coordination within civil protection structures,” Civil Defense said in a statement.
