A low-intensity tornado struck on Wednesday afternoon in the municipality of Alcanena.
The action of strong winds caused part of the roof of two factories in Vila Moreira to rise, as well as the chimney and roof tiles of a house in Moitas Vende to fall.
No injuries were reported, according to the local fire department. As for housing, after the actions of civil protection elements and the elimination of the risk of collapse, the owners were able to return.
In turn, hail was recorded in the Algarve with some intensity in the municipality of Monchique. In the Foyer, twelve liters of rain per square meter fell in an hour. There are also signs of precipitation in the neighboring municipality of Odemira. It also rained heavily in Castro Marim this Wednesday.
Weather forecasts indicate “periods of very cloudy skies with the possibility of showers and thunderstorms in the southern region.” There has also been a tendency for the weather to worsen since Sunday.
