In an analysis of tobacco use, INE concluded that 14.1% of the population aged 16 years and older smoked daily, slightly lower than the result obtained from the 2019 National Health Survey (14.2%) .
Use was casual in 2% of the population, and the spread of regular tobacco use was more frequent among men (19.7%) than among women (9.2%), in persons aged 25 to 64 years (between 18% and 21 %) and among the population with completed secondary education (17.2%).
