The head of European Union (EU) diplomacy said on Tuesday that member states of the community bloc had already delivered 220,000 ammunition and 1,300 missiles to Ukraine, and that number should increase by the end of May.
“In recent days, the number of ammunition delivered to Ukraine has increased to 220,000 cartridges for Ukrainian artillery of various calibers and 1,300 rockets,” Josep Borrell said at a press conference following a meeting of EU defense ministers in Brussels. .
“We are asking Member States to provide the ammunition they already have,” the EU High Representative for Foreign and Defense Policy stressed, adding that he will do “everything possible” to ensure that the goal of supplying one million rounds of ammunition is reached by the end of May in accordance with with an agreement.
