DeSantis, long seen as former U.S. President Donald Trump’s main rival for the Republican nomination, will reveal his plans in an audio chat with the owner of Twitter, according to two people who spoke to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity because they haven’t yet been authorized to publicly discuss the announcement.
Musk, speaking Tuesday at The Wall Street Journal’s executive summit in London, said DeSantis would make a “big announcement” on Twitter the next day. “This is the first time this has happened on social media,” he said with a real-time Q&A, adding that he did not endorse any particular candidate.
