Amnesty International student group from the University of Porto is holding a stand-up comedy show in Matosinhos on Saturday in solidarity with Chilean activist Gustavo Gatica, who became blind after being hit by a rubber bullet from the Chilean police force while participating in national demonstrations on November 8, 2019 in this country.
“To date, the authorities have not yet been held accountable for this act of excessive use of force. This event is held in honor of Gustavo, a big fan of comedy,” according to Amnesty International. A solidarity show is scheduled for Saturday at 21:00 at the premises of the Drama and Music Group Flor de Infesta in San Mamede de Infesta, Matosinhos. It will feature Ze Pedro Rodriguez, Miguel Vieira, Pedro “Rodas” Silva, Joao “Bot” Moreira and Thomas Matos.
“All funds raised during this event will be used to protect human rights, in particular the case of Gustavo Gatica,” said a group of students from the University of Porto from Amnesty International.
