In a note posted on its website, PGRP says that in a March 13 order, the four defendants were charged with 28 offenses of qualified fraud, seven of which were attempts, and three offenses of forgery.
One of the defendants is also responsible for aggravated coercion.
The indictment mentions 28 situations that occurred between April 2021 and September 2022 in the north and center of the country.
The deputy considered that the defendants “persuaded the victims to buy mobile phones, almost always top-class, mainly Apple and Samsung brands”, by approaching them in public places with a large movement of people, such as fairs, markets. , parking lots from supermarkets and fuel pumps.
According to the investigation, the defendants offered to the victims to sell cell phones at prices below market prices, to turn in equipment for inspection, saying “fluently, safely and convincingly”, calling for a purchase, now in the face of an irrefutable business opportunity, because of the price / quality ratio or because that they need to get rid of their mobile phone because they need to earn money.
“Having convinced the victims and while they were looking for money to pay, the defendants placed the displayed devices in the pocket of a vest specially worn on them, and from the other pocket they took out cloth bags with pieces of ceramics. , well tied with several deaf knots so that it would be difficult for the victims to open it, ”the same note says.
Having received money from the hands of the victims and while they were trying to open these wallets, the defendants fled in an unknown direction.
As a result of initiating a criminal case, the defendants will receive criminal benefits totaling 4,240 euros, which the deputy asked to be declared confiscated in favor of the state without prejudice to the rights of the victims.
The PGRP also mentions that a coercive measure was applied to one of the defendants, obliging him to stay in the house.
