The People’s Party (PP) in Spain won this Sunday in the country’s regional elections. Among the names on the list is Antonio Moreno, a former pornographic actor who ran for mayor of Carcelen and received an absolute majority of the vote, according to the Spanish press.
The current mayor sparked controversy when he announced his candidacy for the position in early April. The Spaniard mentioned in an interview for ABC that he does not regret the past and that he is not affected by the negative comments of his opponents.
Antonio Moreno is a forest firefighter and was posted to Carselen six years ago. The small region has about 500 inhabitants and is located in the city of Albacete. Moreno said he fell in love with the area from day one and combined his profession with cattle ranching.
His passion for politics came about by chance when he was invited to join the PP political project. “When the PP gave me the opportunity to lead this project, I explained that there are no problems, but I want to do it with a group that has never had anything to do with politics,” the message says. Antonio Moreno became famous thanks to his participation in films for adult homosexuals. His stage name was “Hector de Silva”.
The politician stressed that he was not ashamed. “This is the period of my life that everyone in the city knows about, and I have never had any problems. My past on the Internet is something that I cannot change,” he stressed.
