According to a statement published today in Diário da República, Constitutional Court Consultant Judge Maria da Assunsan Raimundo, elected three years ago by the Assembly of the Republic, is resigning from her duties on Friday.
The President of the Constitutional Court, José João Abrantes, in a published statement of resignation, says that the judge’s adviser submitted on Friday a written resignation from the position of judge of the Constitutional Court, “which is independent of acceptance and takes effect from June 9 of this year.”
Maria da Assunção Raimundo was elected on July 10, 2020, along with University Professor José João Abrantes, judges of the TC by the Assembly of the Republic, in a second attempt to elect two new judges.
