The London High Court has rejected an appeal by WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange against his extradition to the United States, the international press reported this Friday.
In an opinion released on Tuesday, accessed by news agency EFE, Judge Jonathan Swift found “none of the four arguments” put forward by Assange’s defense to be admissible, upholding an extradition authorization signed on 17 June 2022 by the then British ministry internal affairs. Secretary, Priti Patel.
The judge also rejected in a parallel ruling that the 51-year-old journalist could appeal parts of the January 2021 decision that denied his extradition because he believed he posed a suicide risk.
