Three people died Sunday and 10 were injured when Russian forces attacked a boat carrying residents evacuated from the area flooded by the Kakhovka Dam in southern Ukraine to the city of Kherson.

The governor said in a Telegram post that a 74-year-old man protected a woman from an attack with his own body, dying from a blow to the back.
The attack was first reported by the head of the administration of President Vladimir Zelensky, Andriy Yermak, who reported via Telegram that “the Russian army attacked a boat with civilians evacuated from the left bank of the Kherson region.”
