According to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), 12 areas in the north and center will be issued a yellow warning from 12:00 this Monday due to the forecast for showers and thunderstorms.
The warning, which will last until Monday 21:00, is directed to the areas of Bragança, Viseu, Porto, Guarda, Vila Real, Viana do Castelo, Leiria, Castelo Branco, Aveiro, Coimbra and Braga.
IPMA justifies this warning by saying that showers are expected, sometimes heavy and accompanied by thunderstorms, and possibly also strong gusts of wind.
This yellow warning indicates a hazardous situation for certain weather dependent activities.
On Tuesday, the institute again predicts rain or showers, especially in the northern and central regions, and a northwest wind, which is strong in places in the highlands. A slight decrease in maximum temperature is still expected.
