The drug dealer known as “Brazilian Escobar” was handed over by the Hungarian judiciary, the country where he had been detained since last summer, to Belgium this Thursday.
The delivery took place in accordance with “the highest safety standards,” according to a posting on the website of the National Emergency Police Investigation Department. Sergio Roberto de Carvalho was taken in a police escort from prison to the Budapest Franz Liszt International Airport, handcuffed and escorted by police armed with machine guns. The vehicles used to transport the trafficker were protected by a police helicopter.
Then Sergio Roberto de Carvalho went to Belgium on a special Belgian army plane and is now being held in one of the country’s maximum security prisons.
Escobar Brasileiro is a former military police major in Mato Grosso do Sul and is considered one of the biggest drug traffickers in the world.
