A policy decision in Vigo ordered preventive detention without appeal or bail for a Portuguese man in his 25s who tried to rape a German pilgrim in a hotel room in Vigo, Spain, last Sunday.
The intervention of a GNR captain from Braga, who was on vacation and staying with his family at the same hotel, prevented the breach. The officer also helped the Spanish National Police find and identify the attacker, who had taken refuge in the same hotel room.
The suspect has been detained and will await trial in a Spanish prison. This is a man who lives in the Aveiro region, who was with friends until the morning, having fun in the city of Galicia. At 07:00 last Sunday, the screams of a woman woke up the military, who managed to stop the brutal crime. The victim suffered numerous injuries and was hospitalized.
