Bella Montoya, a retired nurse, was hospitalized in Babajoyo, Ecuador. He was in intensive care, and the doctors did not see a good prognosis. An elderly woman was pronounced dead after failing to respond to resuscitation efforts. However, during the wake, the woman woke up and was quickly taken back to the hospital.
Now, seven days after the first awakening, Bella Montoya has died of an ischemic stroke. She was taken back to the same funeral home where she was when she was declared dead a week ago.
The Ministry of Health of Ecuador has assembled a panel of experts to analyze the case.
