A U.S. federal judge on Monday granted Special Counsel Jack Smith’s request to bar former President Donald Trump from disclosing confidential information about the classified documents trial.
“The discovered materials, together with any information obtained from them, may not be made public, in the media or on any social media platform, without prior notice and the consent of the court,” Judge Bruce Reinhart ruled in his decision. American television network NBC.
The judge clarified that the defendants—Trump and his adviser Walt Nauta, who is also charged in the case—would only have access to the trial’s information under the direct supervision of his legal team and could not keep copies of the materials.
