Four PSP agents were attacked this Monday afternoon in Torres Vedras, next to the Caixa Geral de Depósitos, in the 25 April square.
The police were forced to intervene due to unrest among the bank’s customers. It was at this moment that they were brutally attacked. One of them had a cut on his eyebrow, and the other had several bruises.
At the heart of the outrage is the help of a woman who, under duress from third parties, wanted to withdraw funds from the account, the PSP said in a statement.
“The family members, about 15 people, having learned about the contact of the police with the victim, in order to obtain more detailed information about the reported, immediately entered the bank branch and threatened the police and the victim.”
When the authorities attempted to secure the lady’s safety by trying to get her out of the bank’s surroundings, they were attacked “indiscriminately”.
The aggressors fled and remain in an unknown place.
