Venezuelan NGO Control Ciudadano (CC) on Tuesday accused the Venezuelan police and military of “killing” 105 people between April and May 2023, in what “appears to be government policy due to the large number of reported cases.”
The data is contained in the “Killed by the State Security and the Bolivarian Armed Forces of Venezuela (FANB) Report”, which defines the “killed” as those killed in alleged clashes with the State security forces.
According to the report, these cases “need prompt, effective, thorough, independent and transparent investigations to ensure they do not cover up extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions outside the law and with impunity.”
