The second student shot dead by 21-year-old former public school student Prof. Helena Kolodi in Camba, in the north Brazilian state of Parana, died Tuesday morning.
Luan Augusto, 16, who was admitted in a very serious condition to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Londrina University Hospital, a city 14 km from Cambe, collapsed from multiple injuries and died at 3:27. am local time, 7:27 am in Lisbon.
Luan was the boyfriend of another victim of the attack, 15-year-old Carolina Verri Alves, who also attended the same school and died instantly when the shooter began shooting in all directions. Caroline’s funeral will take place on Tuesday, and Luan, who received multiple headshots, on Wednesday.
Two teenagers in love, caught off guard in a moment of no class, came directly under gunshots from a gunman who fired at least 16 shots inside the school where he studied several years ago and where he managed to enter, claiming that he had to go to the office to request school history, something ordinary, not suspicious.
After assisting, the shooter picked up a firearm and began shooting at the students, who frantically ran and hid wherever they could, and also shot at Caroline and Luan. The only reason he didn’t report any more victims was because the teacher took the risk of subduing him before the police arrived.
