Four employees of the company Groundforce, responsible for the logistics of luggage at national airports, were arrested on Tuesday by the judicial police at Lisbon airport for international drug trafficking.
The suspects, who had been under investigation for several months, were caught trying to take out about 30 kilograms of cocaine from the premises of the capital’s airport.
The drug was hidden in luggage taken from a plane flying from Brazil.
The judge seized drugs, a large amount of money, five large cars, cell phones and various documents relevant to the investigation.
Three of the detainees are Portuguese, and one is a foreigner. They are between 25 and 44 years old.
They will have links to an international drug trafficking network.
Today they will be sent to court, but probably will not be questioned until tomorrow.
