A court in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, today extended for another three months the pre-trial detention of Begolean Fernandez, a 26-year-old Brazilian girl arrested in February at Lisbon airport on suspicion of possessing human flesh.
The suspect, we recall, was extradited from Portugal at the request of Dutch justice. He is suspected of killing compatriot Alan Lopez, 22, with dozens of stab wounds to the head, neck, chest and other parts of the body.
The crime took place on February 26 this year in Amsterdam, and Begolean Fernandez immediately fled to Portugal. He will be arrested by the Aliens and Border Guards on arrival at Gago Coutinho Airport in Lisbon. There was a box of meat in the luggage, which went for analysis.
