US President Joe Biden held his hand on his chest during the playing of the Indian anthem and was caught on camera shaking hands with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday morning during the ruler’s visit to the United States of America. These two points cause controversy in social networks.
In accordance with new york post officeBiden rolled out the red carpet to Narendra Modi, India’s prime minister since 2014, as part of a state visit aimed at strengthening the alliance between Washington and New Delhi. When the first notes of the Indian anthem “Jana Gana Mana” were played, Biden brought his right hand to his chest, holding it there for about 15 seconds. He then slowly lowered it, apparently realizing that the band was not playing “The Stars and Stripes”, the US national anthem.
Stepping down from the pulpit onto the red carpet, Joe Biden got in the way again. The US President shook hands with Narenda Modi, forcing his wife, Jill Biden, to the right of the Indian Prime Minister, who was between them.
“After seeing Biden’s gesture, I laughed, look how he bends his right arm when he realized that this is the national anthem of India,” says an Internet user on social networks.
“Biden just lost my vote and many of my friends,” says another user.
