One person died and nine were injured, including children, this Sunday in a rollercoaster accident at the Grona Lund amusement park in Stockholm, Sweden. Information provided by Reuters.
Some witnesses stated that the Jetline rollercoaster partially derailed, causing people to fall.
“This is a tragedy and a shock. Unfortunately, we have learned that one person has died,” said Grona Lund spokeswoman Annika Troselius, quoted by the news agency.
Of the nine injured, three are in serious condition.
The amusement park said in a statement that it will remain closed until further notice.
The Jetline attraction, made of steel rails, has a speed of 90 kilometers per hour and a height of 30 meters. It is estimated that over a million visitors a year use it.
