Three suspected robbers died early this Friday after being shot dead by police during a chase in Maputo, a corporate source told Lusa.
A group of robbers ordered a taxi around 02:00 local time (01:00 in Lisbon) and then used a gun to immobilize the driver, forcing him to enter the trunk of the car with a gag in his mouth, hands and feet. connected, said Leonel Muchina, police spokesman for the Republic of Mozambique (PRM) in the city of Maputo.
The taxi driver managed to open the trunk of the car, disappeared into the nearest bakery, called his brother, and together they wrote a statement to the police, ahead of Leonel Muchin.

According to Leonel Muchin, the police confiscated three firearms from the robbers, who already had a criminal record and were even serving sentences for the same type of crimes.
The Mozambique police are asking taxi drivers to be more vigilant when it comes to ordering a taxi at dawn, especially in the middle of the week, to avoid situations like this.
