The non-governmental organization Doctors Without Borders (MSF) on Monday rescued 51 migrants in international waters near Malta.
“Our team aboard the GeoBarents rescued 51 people, including a woman and nine children, six of whom were unaccompanied.
They are all safe and under surveillance, the non-governmental organization said, adding that the operation was carried out with air support from the non-governmental organization Pilotos Voluntários, which is responsible for aerial surveillance in the central Mediterranean.
