Businessman Elon Musk said this Wednesday that the brain chips developed by the company he co-founded, Neuralink, would begin human testing within six months.
The company said it is developing chips so they can help disabled patients move and communicate again.
Elon Musk goes even further and says that he believes that devices can restore vision: “Even if someone has never had vision, who was born blind, we believe that we can restore vision,” said the businessman, the main goal which is the development of the chip. which allow the brain to control complex electronic devices and allow people with paralysis to regain motor function and treat brain diseases such as Parkinson’s disease, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
Headquartered in Texas, USA, Neuralink has been testing the chips on animals for the past few years, pending FDA approval. federal agency of the United States Department of Health and Human Services, start human clinical trials.
