Mamedio Alves Magalhaes, 105, died shortly after 4 am last Friday, June 30, and his lover Ana Araujo Magalhaes died four hours later, shortly after 8 am.

The couple lived all their lives in Paraná, a city of 10,000 people in the south of the state of Tocantins, in northern Brazil, and the love between the two touched nephews, other family members and acquaintances, and lasted until the last breath of life. .

Ana, in more fragile health than her husband, had not walked for a long time and spent most of her time in a state of absence, but every day, when it was dinner time, she uttered the same words, the only ones she spoke, asking, worrying, whether her husband had already been fed.
