Two brothers aged twelve and eight, Noah Roche and Weston Woods respectively, are hailed as heroes for rescuing another seven-year-old boy, Griffin Emerson, who was drowning in a pool in the US.
The two brothers were in the pool of the apartment when Griffin was spotted. The boy was playing the part where his feet were in the pool of floats, but he decided to remove them and began to swim towards the deep end of the pool. It became difficult for Griffin to keep his head above the water.
“I saw him and realized that he was unwell. I saw him at the bottom of the pool, and then I didn’t know if he was playing down there. everything was fine,” said older brother Noah. “His head was bobbing up and down. I knew he was wrong,” Weston added.
The little brother jumped and reached out to pull Griffin to the surface of the pool. The mother of the little heroes, Sylize Roche, called 911 and said that Griffin was not breathing, turned blue and was being resuscitated. Resuscitation was immediately carried out on the child, who began to breathe again after coughing up water from the pool.
“I was afraid that I would drown. I felt strange. I spit out some water and that’s it,” Griffin said. “I just wanted to prove myself. I can really swim,” he added.
Griffin was released from the hospital 36 hours after the incident.
The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office in the United States honored Noah and Weston in a special ceremony that reunited the boys with Griffin.
