The German authorities acknowledged that “there is no convincing evidence” that Madeleine McAnne is at the Arad dam, where recently since May 3, 2007, a missing Englishwoman has been searched.
According to the British press and the newspaper Bild, the German detectives admitted that they expected few results from the searches carried out on the ground, during which various elements were collected for analysis.
German prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters said that the necessary evidence to impute the crime to Christian Bruckner is not in this Algarve dam. “Don’t expect too much,” he told Bild.
The searches at the Arade Dam were carried out after the German authorities claimed they had a lead linking Bruckner to little Maddy’s kidnapping and that the suspect was using the area as a hideout.
