The US government announced this Friday its “black list” of countries and organizations that attack religious freedom, including Cuba, China, Iran, Russia, the Wagner Group and the Taliban, among others.
“All over the world, governments and non-state actors harass, threaten, imprison and even kill people because of their beliefs. In some cases, they restrict people’s religious freedom to take advantage of opportunities for political gain,” he said. US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.
“These actions sow discord, undermine economic security, and threaten political stability and peace,” Blinken said in a statement in which he stressed that “the United States will not stand idly by in the face of such abuses.”
