The NATO Secretary General announced on Tuesday that Ukraine’s invitation to join NATO would be made “when there is consent” from all member states and “conditions are met” and that there has never been a timetable.
“Let’s invite Ukraine [a aderir] when the allies agree and as soon as the conditions are met,” said Jens Stoltenberg at a press conference at the end of the first day of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit in Vilnius, Lithuania.
Journalists asked the Secretary General of the Atlantic Alliance several times about criticism from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who considered the absence of a timetable for the country’s accession to be “absurd”.
