The legless man, whose identity is being preserved so as not to be exposed in the future, was abandoned on the sidewalk under the scorching sun by employees of the Pedro II Municipal Hospital in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro, where he was hospitalized. According to the information received, since neither the hospital nor the municipal health secretariat of Rio de Janeiro cooperated, the man was left in the infirmary by an evangelical pastor who runs a shelter for the needy in the city.
