UN Secretary-General António Guterres sent a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin proposing to facilitate Russian exports of food and fertilizers, as well as Ukrainian grains, his spokesman said on Wednesday.
The letter was sent on Tuesday and focuses on “aligning the vital implementation of the MoU with the vital need to support the Black Sea Grains Initiative,” said Stéphane Dujarric, spokesman.
“The goal is to remove the obstacles affecting financial transactions through the Russian Agricultural Bank, which is of great concern to the Russian Federation, and at the same time allow the continuous flow of Ukrainian grains through the Black Sea,” Dujarric said.
