“The richest beggar in the world”: a man became a millionaire by begging in India

Bharat Jain made his fortune begging on the streets of Bombay, India. In accordance with new york Post, the man has already saved up about 7.5 million euros and owns a luxury apartment and two shops. Today he is known as “the richest beggar in the world”.

The story of Bharat Jain has long been known in India. Being illiterate, he decided to become a beggar when he saw that he had no job. He currently spends ten to twelve hours a day near the Chhatrapati Shivaji railway station and the Azad Maidan sports ground, places considered privileged for begging.

In accordance with El Pais, the man used the money he earned to invest in his children’s education and other property.

Despite the accumulated wealth, Bharat is not going to leave the streets. He says that begging is not easy, but he does not see himself in another business, and therefore never thought about quitting this occupation.
