The Judicial Police (SP) detained a 55-year-old man on suspicion of aggravated murder. The facts took place on November 3, 2002 in Bensafrim, Lagos, “when, after discussion for useless reasons, a detainee armed with a knife stabbed the victim in the neck, resulting in his death,” the SP statement said.
After the aggression, the man fled in an unknown direction, but ended up in Poland, “where an internationally valid arrest warrant was executed and extradited to Portugal.”
The detainee was present at the first judicial interrogation and a measure of restraint in the form of detention was applied to him.
The investigation is being led by the Lagos Public Prosecutor’s Office.
