A four-year-old boy suffered 1st and 2nd degree burns this Friday in the parish of Jorense, in Terras de Buro, in Braga.
Under circumstances that have not yet been clarified, the boy burned himself with boiling water.
Local firefighters, the INEM team, and a helicopter parked at the José Carlos Macedo Stadium in Amares were mobilized to help.
After providing first aid and stabilizing the child, the medical team decided to take the victim by ambulance to Amares, from where he was taken by helicopter to the hospital de Braga.
The boy is admitted to the emergency room, awaiting development and possible need for transfer to the burn unit.
