The Prime Minister of Sao Tome today denied involvement in the November 25 assault on the Armed Forces headquarters, accusing opponents of creating a “smoke screen” and said he was “calmly awaiting” the results of the investigation. .
“I don’t know how a government with an absolute majority, 11 days after coming to power, with all those responsible for the services of the defense and security forces appointed by the previous government, seeks to carry out a coup d’état against itself. “I don’t know for what purpose,” said Patrice Trovoada, who is in Lisbon for meetings with national authorities, in an interview with Lusa.
Thus, the head of government responded to the accusations of opponents that he was behind the events of November 25, in which four people were killed, qualified by the Sao Tome authorities as an “attempted coup” and condemned by the international community.
