The government and the medical unions will meet again this Thursday to discuss the revision of pay tables, a matter on which there is no agreement yet.
The unions rejected a proposal for a 1.6% increase, with the government saying it has submitted proposals that represent a 24% increase in doctors’ salaries in the National Health Service (SNS).
The meeting takes place one day after another, which brings together the government, the National Federation of Physicians (FNAM) and the more technical Independent Physicians’ Union (SIM) to discuss a decree-law that will summarize the B. model family health facilities.
At today’s meeting, FNAM President Joana Bordalo e Sa told Lusa that the structure will formally submit a request for an independent mediator to break the deadlock in the negotiations.
The official demands a global agreement for all sectors with better conditions for professionals and rejects the fragmentation of the social network.
Today is the fifth non-protocol meeting. “We can’t continue like this,” he said, to justify an independent external intermediary rejecting the SIM.
The protocol of negotiations signed in 2022 between the unions and the government initially called for the negotiations to be completed by the end of June.
