Judicial police arrested a 34-year-old man suspected of drug trafficking. The detainee was an employee of a company providing handling skills at Humberto Delgado Airport in Lisbon. The man used his profession to seize the drug directly from the hold of the planes shortly after arrival, avoiding inspection by the authorities.
The SP said in a statement that the operation seized “large quantities of cocaine which, if it had been caught in illicit distribution networks, would have been sufficient to make at least 226,000 individual doses.” This drug arrived at Lisbon airport on a flight from Latin America.
In addition to drugs, they also seized a car, mobile phones and various documents.
At the first judicial interrogation, the use of coercive measures will be present.
The SP investigation is ongoing.
