Lucy Letby, a 33-year-old nurse, was found guilty this Friday of killing seven babies and attempted murder of six more at the hospital where she worked in England. The verdict comes after ten months of trial.
In accordance with The keeper,The crimes were described as “persistent, calculating and cold-blooded”.
Among the victims were twin brothers, a newborn weighing less than a kilogram and a girl who was born ten weeks premature.
The case dates back to 2016, when it became known that several babies had died at the Countess of Chester’s hospital. An investigation was launched to clarify the circumstances of these deaths.
In 2017, the woman was reported to the police, and the following year she was arrested.
“I killed them on purpose because I’m not good enough to take care of them. I’m a terrible person. I am bad and I did it,” he wrote in a note after his arrest.
The nurse even poisoned and injected newborns with milk, air and insulin. At trial, he denied all charges.
