Marcelo Rebelo de Souza met with Volodymyr Zelensky this Thursday at the presidential palace on the day when Ukraine celebrates the 32nd anniversary of independence. The presidents of the two countries spoke at a press conference about the death of Yevgeny Prigozhin.
The President of Ukraine considered the alleged death of the leader of the Wagner group a “good” for Ukraine and even joked about it.
“When Ukraine turned to partners for help with aviation, it was not that kind of help,” the Ukrainian president joked.
“Ukraine has nothing to do with what happened. We know very well who is involved in this,” he added.
The President of the Republic declared that, thanks to the presence of the Wagner group in Africa, Portugal had missions in African territory and therefore followed everything that happened.
