Donald Trump arrived this Thursday in the US city of Atlanta, Georgia, to surrender to a local prison, where he is accused of trying to rig the 2020 election results. This is the fourth criminal charge brought against him.
The former head of state went to the Fulton County Jail in the US city of Atlanta to be fingerprinted and possibly photographed for a court case. At 19:50 local time (00:50 Lisbon), the former US president again left the prison premises in Georgia. He was released on $200,000 (€185,000) bail.
According to Reuters, Trump’s private plane landed at 7:03 pm local time this Thursday (00:03 am Lisbon) at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, where escorts were ready to take him to the Fulton County Jail. Outside prison, supporters included U.S. Representative in Georgia Majorie Taylor Green, one of Trump’s most prominent supporters in the U.S. Congress.
The Fulton County indictment is the fourth criminal case against Trump since March, when he became the first former president in US history to be indicted.
