Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree this Friday obliging members of paramilitary organizations to take the oath of allegiance to Russia, as soldiers of the regular army do, two days after the alleged death of the leader of the Wagner group.
Under the terms of the decree, published on the government website, elements of the paramilitary forces must swear “loyalty” and “loyalty” to Russia and “strictly follow the orders of their commanders and superiors.”
The text was signed this Friday, two months after the mutiny of the Wagner group, on the orders of Yevgeny Prigozhin (who allegedly died on Wednesday in a plane crash) and who at the time was demanding the resignation of the leadership of the Russian military hierarchy.
