The President of Angola said this Friday that Brazil is one of the most visible players in Angola’s economic development, reiterating an invitation to Brazilian businessmen to invest in Angola in a “fearless manner.”
João Lourenço, speaking at the closing ceremony of the Angolan-Brazilian Economic Forum, held as part of the visit of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, stressed that after about five years, even in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, Angola has managed to create a better business environment that attracts private investors.
“We expect Brazilian private equity investment in the Angolan economy to turn Angola’s economic potential into real wealth, jobs and prosperity, so we reiterate the invitation to Brazilian businessmen to invest fearlessly in Angola,” he said.
The President of Angola addressed the Brazilian business community with a request to invest in agribusiness, automotive, tractors and implements, fertilizers and fertilizers, solar panels, medicines and vaccines, woodworking, tourism, real estate and in all fields and other industries that you interested.
According to João Lourenço, through the operation of the Lobito Corridor, Brazilian businessmen investing in Angola will also gain access to the Southern African Development Community (SADC) market with a gross domestic product of more than $720 billion and approximately 350 million consumers. .
João Lourenço also urged his country’s businessmen to take advantage of the business opportunities that Brazil offers in almost all sectors of the Brazilian economy and the opportunity to reach the MERCOSUR countries through Brazil.
“My presence and the presence of President Lula at the closing act of the business forum reflects our high commitment to increasing investment and trade between our two countries,” he said.
At the ceremony, João Lourenço and Lula da Silva unveiled the Angola and Brazil Chamber of Commerce (CCAB) plaque and witnessed the signing of the Action Plan of the Cunene Valley Family Farming Program.
