The Ministry of Justice has asked Judge Carlos Alexandra to confiscate assets in the name of Ruben Oliveira, known as “Shuxa” and considered the biggest drug dealer in Portugal, and his right-hand man José Afonso “Xulinhas”. According to the weekly Expresso, one of the assets identified by the investigation is a luxury apartment in Dubai worth 750,000 euros. Prosecutor Sandra Pontes will contact local authorities for assistance in identifying the property.
The apartment is located in the center and has a privileged view. This is T2 in Tower 11 of the Vida Dubai Mall Downtown condominium complex with two bedrooms and three bathrooms.
The two defendants in custody have other homes, namely in the Algarve and Lisbon.
There are 21 defendants in the process, three of which are companies. Crimes related to aggravated drug trafficking, drug trafficking, money laundering and illegal weapons possession are at stake.
The organization, led by Xuxa, had ties to Sergio Carvalho, a drug trafficker known as the “Brazilian Escobar” and responsible for exporting tons of cocaine to Europe.
The instructive debate continues and will continue next Monday. The first meeting, held on August 9, was adjourned after some lawyers declared that they were unable to obtain evidence.
